First it important to emphasize that eliminating the need for plastic water bottles is the key goal. By moving the popularity and conveniences of a to-go bottle to supplying yourself with your own drinking water from your home, school, or workplace would be comparatively 80 percent more easy on the environment, however that option is most often over looked by consumers. Since the change from bottles water to personal reusable water bottles is not as popular as most environmentalist would like, companies are devising new bottles and lower production energy costs at water bottle producing plants to save on the carbon imprint planted on earth from producing these high demanded water bottles.

Green bottles are a new way to move away from plastic and completely to 100 percent biodegradable beverage bottles. PET , HTPE, & LDPE plastics are safe options

To be certain that you are choosing a bottle that does not LEACH (contaminate the water that the bottle is holding and thus you are drinking), check the recycling symbol on your bottle.

If it is a HDPE (high density polyethylene), or a LDPE (low density polyethylene), or a PP (polypropylene), your bottle is fine. The type of plastic bottle in which water is usually sold is usually a HDPE, and is only recommended for one time use. Do not refill it.
